Are any teams really good this year? Everything seems a bit off. Every year it seems there’s a team that plows through their schedule and looks like world beaters, only to lose shockingly in the playoffs. This year I could see it happening to either the Patriots or the Ravens, or even both.
I’m a fan of a bad football team. The next paragraph is about them, so feel free to skip over it.
*
Know how long I was mad about the Broncos’ painful loss to the Vikings last weekend? About 5 minutes. No, really. Because after stewing about it for that long, I remembered, “Oh, yeah. They’re a shitty football team.” Bad teams don’t win these kinds of games. I saw enough that I’m encouraged by the progress of the young players. Courtland Sutton looks like he’s going to be a gamer, Tim Patrick is showing signs of being a solid option, Noah Fant is up and down but had a good game, Brandon Allen seems like he’d be a solid backup QB for a while, and they’ve found several nifty additions to the defense. I’m ok with Brandon Allen getting the start today in the Allen Bowl against the Bills, and maybe one more against the Chargers if he plays well, but after that they should start Drew Lock and see how it goes. I’m hoping he plays well enough that they don’t have to draft another QB, because they need to draft almost an entire offensive line. As far as today’s game, the Bills obviously should win... but I wouldn’t be entirely shocked if they don’t take the Broncos seriously enough and they sneak away with an upset.
*
Here in Denver, we get the Broncos-Bills game early on CBS (boo), and nothing after. Fox is giving us the Seahawks at the Eagles early. I’ll take the Seahawks there. Our late game is... God damn it. Cowboys at Patriots. I want the Patriots to crush the Cowboys. Make it embarrassing , please . Why? Because I’m fucking tired of Fox foisting the Cowboys on us constantly because HURR DUR AMURKAS TEAM. Fuck you. They haven’t been America’s team since the 90's. You know, when they used to win shit? If we’re going to be forced to watch the Cowboys then I want to watch them get beaten so bad that they keep cutting to Jerry Jones crying in his owners’ box. I hate the Patriots too, but at least they’re winners. End rant. SNF is hopefully a good one: Packers at 49ers. I’m not sure who to pick. I think I’ll go with the Pack, reluctantly. Monday is Ravens at Rams, and I’d think it would be the upset of the year if the Rams were to get it together enough to beat the Ravens.
The rest:
Buccaneers at Falcons - This is a game that is happening today. One of the teams will win, assuming they score more points than the other team.
Giants at Bears - Ouch. Two games in and not a winning team in the bunch. I guess I’ll go with the old stand by. Home team wins 20-17.
Steelers at Bengals - Still no winning teams! Well, the Steelers will be as soon as this game is over.
Dolphins at Browns - WHAT IS HAPPENING? IS EVERY TEAM DRAFTING IN THE TOP TEN NEXT YEAR? Wow. I’d love to pick the Dolphins, but I’m going to have to hold my nose and go with the Browns.
Panthers at Saints - I know the Saints should walk away with this one on paper, especially at home. Bu t this is one of those division games that could be more interesting than expected. I’m gonna pick the Panthers.
Raiders at Jets - I hate it when the Raiders are winning. I’m going to keep hating it after this one, too.
Lions at Redskins - Lions. Fuck Dan Snyder.
Jaguars at Titans - This is the afternoon game I’d rather watch. I think the Titans have the ability to knock the Jags out.
Chiefs, Vikings, Cardinals, and Chargers are on the final bye week .
Only fourteen teams have a winning record at this point. Man, we’re surrounded by bad football.

The 49ers are a bad football team and they’re 9-1. It doesn’t make sense, just all the teams they face play worse somehow.

Anyone know how I can watch (American) football in England?

I haven't seen a single one of their games this year so I'll have to take your word for it.

They’re second in the league in points scored and points allowed. They aren’t winning games by scraping by. They’re averaging more points and yards than the other 9-1 team, the Patriots, which is the only team that is allowing fewer points per game than them. Their one loss came to the Seahawks, who are a very good team, and they took the game to overtime.

Do you promise me that’s not a gay porn streaming site? I have a cable subscription that lets me stream, but the games are all blacked out on account of me being in Euroland.

My main concern right now is with how Google insists on pinning the Browns/Dolphins game to my notifications bar, despite the many times I’ve swiped it away.
I don’t want to watch this Google. At all. Please stop.
It’s weird to see a pats team look so (relatively) bad with such a great record. Hopefully Brady calls it quits in a few years before he gets benched. 49ers.... Well. They’ve certainly come into the hard part of their season. Time will tell.
Oh and I'd kill to have the Ravens/Rams game tonight instead of tomorrow. I don't think there's any outcome that I wouldn't be happy with, but as it stands I won't be able to watch much if any of it :/

Promise is a strong word lol but it broke off from Reddit NFL streams when Reddit stopped allowing streams being posted. It became it's own site and from the more consistent streams I used to try on Reddit, the ones by Buffstreamz were always the best.

Wow there’s a lot of bad football today. Starting with my Bears playing the Giants.
Blech

Literally no one outside of northeast Ohio is interested in that game. Google should know better than that.

This Pats game today won't be good. Rain to mess up throwing, 2WR out even if it was good weather. I'm guessing it will be slow and boring on both sides with some significant defense. Bleh

I just watched all of that awful Broncos-Bills game, and they cut to the end of the Panthers-Saints game. It makes me miss when my team was good. Le sigh.

I’m sure that was a lot worse than the Bear game, and not just because they lost.
Now we’re stuck with Pats-Cowboys , don’t they realize that America hates those teams??

I decided to go for a drive so I can listen to the Jags-Titans instead.
Yeah, it was pretty bad. I think it’s time they put Drew Lock in to get him some experience. Brandon Allen is really just another Trevor Siemian. He’s adequate, but paired with a crap o-line he’s not very good.

Jags - Titans? Those are two teams that... exist I guess?
Is Lock healthy now? Thought he was hurt and that’s why he hasn’t played.

He’s healthy now, and there’s really no reason to keep pretending Brandon Allen is the answer. They need some sort of spark anyway.
Dude, the Titans game was entertaining for a blowout. They scored 28 points in the third quarter, and the Titans’ broadcast team was hilarious to listen to.

To be fair, their win over the Broncos wasn't that close. Broncos sucked the whole game and somehow scored a garbage time TD to make it look close.

Then better get him in there to build chemistry with Sutton (he’s a stud) and figure out if he’s the guy or not.
I ended up listening to the last 5 minutes of that game on the radio and it was amusing for a blowout. Those are just 2 teams that are way off my radar.

Oh God no. I have no idea where that report came from, I don't think there's even a slight chance of that. Unless there's suddenly a huge falling out between him and Elway, he's here for at least 3 seasons.

Yeah, it makes no sense to stick with Allen. I could maybe see them starting Allen for one more week, but even that would be pointless to me.
